Thursday, December 4
Gentlemen,
I apologize for how long it's taking me to return all the essays I owe you. (Honestly, between basketball and the new baby, I'm as busy as this guy.) My goal is stay up very late and get it all done. After all, there's a new avalanche of essays coming tomorrow. Anyway, on to the update:
7th Grade/2nd Period: Today we did the quiz on identifying dependent clauses, then worked on chapter 36 in the Gold Book. Quiz tomorrow on DC punctuation templates (like Ex. 49 in the Gold Book).
7th Grade/3rd Period: Today we did the quiz on DC PT's, then worked on chapter 36. Tomorrow we will do a quiz on filling in DM's, like exercise 50. Then we'll work on exercise 51 in the Gold Book.
8th Grade/4th Period: No class today: floater four. Tomorrow your two-paragraph essays on "The Man in the Glass" are due.
8th Grade/6th Period: Today we worked on the Man in the Glass essays and talked about Nazis. Man in the Glass essays due tomorrow.
HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to the several winners of two points from Tuesday night. Indeed, the name of the volcano that destroyed ancient Pompeii is Mt. Vesuvius. And congrats also to Bryan Griffith for getting today's Hooper Bonus: the phrase "He has the conch" comes The Lord of the Flies. Well done.
Tonight, a Review-Per from Wednesday's trip to the Natural History museum. Three points to the first and one to each additional comper who can tell me: (a) What strange mammal has the Latin name Ornithorhynchus anatinus?, (b) what color is the enormous Hope diamond at the MNH?, and (c) what dinosaur's skull is mounted on a stand behind the museum (where we recited "I Wish I Were a Cave Boy")? Good luck!
