Tuesday, November 18
Good day, gentlemen, especially those of you hustling on the court. Tomorrow is full day of middle school classes -- Wikipedia is for the upper schoolers. On to the update:
7th Grade/2nd Period: Today we finished up the exercises in Chapter 33 in the Gold Book, bringing us to the end of Part III on compound sentences. Tomorrow we will have a quiz on all six PT's (like ex. 45-46 in the Gold Book). And the test will be Thursday.
7th Grade/3rd Period: No class today: floater three. Class Exercise 46 is due tomorrow for homework. Tomorrow we will have a quiz on punctuating and writing the first six PT's, then review Chapter 33 and get ready for the test Thursday.
8th Grade/4th Period: Today we began work on a PJ Essay on Alan Seeger's "Rendezvous with Death." It will be due Thursday. No class tomorrow: floater four.
8th Grade/6th Period: Same as 4th period today: we began work on the Seeger PJ essay. Tomorrow, while the 4th period guys have the day off, we'll make up that super special limerick assignment. PJ's due Thursday.
HOOPER PROJECT: How many Hoopers would a Cody chuck if a Cody could chuck Hoopers? Three, apparently. Cody was last night's Charlie Hustle: indeed, Chuck Yeager was the first pilot to break the sound barrier, "In 732 at the Battle of Tours, Charles Martel defeated the Moors," and Charles Dickens was the famous British 19th century author. Well done, C.
Tonight, a Tuesday two-fer. Two points to EVERY Comper who can tell me: (a) What sci-fi villain is one of the gargoyles carved into the the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.?, and (b) what famous work of classical music begins with three quick G notes followed by a long E flat? Hoo-Hoo-Hoo-Hoooooooper!
