Happy Veterans Day, and what a happy day it was. Quizzes, Zingers, limericks! Oh my!
7th Grade/2nd Period: Today we did the quiz on writing embedded ca's. Homework (+3/-3) is exercise 43 in the Gold Book. No class tomorrow, Wikipedia, and no quiz Thursday.
7th Grade/3rd Period: Today we did the quiz on punctuating embedded ca's, then worked on exercise 42 and Chapter 31. No class tomorrow -- Wikipedia. Quiz Thursday will be on writing embedded ca sentences, like in exercise 42 in the Gold Book.
8th Grade/4th Period: Fun day, turned Joseph McPherson's "Avalon" into a limerick. Good job to all already finished. Thursday both the limericks and Zinger #2 are due. No class tomorrow for Wiki-Wed.
8th Grade/6th Period: No class today, floater six. No class tomorrow, Wikipedia. Zinger #2 due Thursday. Assignment is posted to the left.
HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to Max Kiley for charging down the Gettysburg Hoopers from last night. Indeed, Maximus, the Rebs were led by Robert E. Lee at G-burg, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain led the 20th Maine regiment, and the last desperate charge on the third day was led by George Pickett.
Tonight, two Hoopers in honor of Veteran's Day. Three points to the first and one to each additional Comper who can tell me: (a) By what other name is November 11th commemorated every year around the world?, and (b) What is the oldest branch of the American armed services? To those about to Hooper, I salute you!
