Thursday, Novermber 13

Happy Hodge-Podge Thursday! Lots going on in Composition, so on to the update:

7th Grade/2nd Period: Today we worked on Chapter 33, the compound sentence review. We did class exercise 44 in class and began 45. Finish Ex. 45 is homework tonight (+3/-3). A pop-quiz could also be in the works...

7th Grade/3rd Period: Today we worked on Chapter 32, and finishing Ex. 43 in the Gold Book is the homework (+3/-3 tomorrow). No quiz tomorrow.

8th Grade/4th Period: Today we began work on a P.J. Essay on Wilfred Owen's "Anthem for Doomed Youth." The finished product is due tomorrow. Tomorrow there will be a quoting quiz, and much, much, more.

8th Grade/6th Period: Today we worked on the Wilfred Owen P.J. Essay, too. No class tomorrow: Rec-Specs Friday.

HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to Max Kiley for saluting his second Hooper of the week. Indeed, Max, Veterans Day in the U.S. is known as Remembrance Day or Armistice Day around the world, commemorating the end of World War I. And the oldest branch of the U.S. military is the Army. Well done.

Tonight, some Thursday Hooper window dressing. Three points to the first and TWO to each additional Comper who can drape their minds around this challenge and tell me the meaning of the following : (a) the Iron Curtain, (b) the Steel Curtain, and (c) a "curtain call." Good luck!
