Tuesday, October 7
Good solid day, gents. Way to earn tomorrow's capture the flag. The update:
7th Grade/2nd & 3rd Periods: Today we did the quiz on dependent clauses and went over relative clauses. Quiz Thursday on relative clauses.
8th Grade/4th Period: Today we did the quiz on conclusion-writing, then did the intro to P.J. Essays. Thursday we'll do our first in-class writing assignment. So exciting.
8th Grade/6th Period: Today we did the quiz on conclusion-writing. Tomorrow, after capture the flag, we will do the introduction to P.J. Essays. Thursday will be the first in-class essay.
HOOPER PROJECT: And we're back... Congrats first to Cody Mauri for clinching last night's Hoopers, just as the BoSox clinched the divisional playoff series. Indeed, Mr. Mauri: Ted Williams was the Sox star who homered in his final at bat, Carl Yastrzemski was Williams' replacement in left field, the last man to win the triple crown in 1967, and they and all Red Sox since 1912 have played their home games at Fenway Park. Good work.
Tonight, some seafaring Hoopers for you explorers. Three points to the first and one to each additional Comper who can tell the names of the famous vessel (or vessels) that landed at the following places: (a) Plymouth Rock, (b) San Salvador, and (c) Tranquility Base. Hooper ho!
