Tuesday, October 28

A good day had, gentlemen. And another near upon us...

7th Grade/2nd and 3rd Period: Today we did the quiz on IC; IC sentences. No classes tomorrow for the Faculty-Varsity soccer game. Quiz Thursday on IC, cc IC sentences.

8th Grade/4th Period: No class today, or tomorrow, alas. Thursday we'll do the final P.J. Essay of the quarter.

8th Grade/6th Period: Today we did the "If..." quoting quiz. Tomorrow is the P.J. Essay on Joseph McPherson's "Avalon." It will be our final meeting of the week, but I will let the 6th period extend the marking period a few days to allow for redos and make ups.

HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to Thomas Bonatti and several others for gruntling last night's Hooper. Indeed, P.G. Wodehouse was the master writer who died in 1975 after writing dozens of books and stories, most notably about his tag-team Bertie Wooster and his servant, Jeeves. Jolly good.

Another day, another master. Five points to the first, and one to each additional Comper who can tell me: (a) What Cornell University professor wrote what became the 20th century's most influential American book on writing?, (b) Which of the professor's students updated and edited his old teacher's work to make it a best seller?, and (c) What is the name is this classic book on English composition? Good luck.
