Tuesday, October 21
Welcome back, gentlemen. A quick reminder: the first quarter ends in Composition on October 31, one week before the quarter's end in your other classes. You have two more school-weeks to get in all your redos, make-ups, and extra credit assignments.
Also, tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 22, is the middle school Olympics at Ridge Road Park, so no classes tomorrow.
Now, on to the week ahead:
7th Grade/2nd & 3rd Period: Tests were handed back today. The re-test will be at lunch one day next week. Today we began work on Part III of the Gold Book. Quiz Thursday on identifying independent clauses in compound sentences, just like exercise 28.
8th Grade/4th & 6th Period: Today we will review the proper format for an essay, with on-the-pooter training in the lab. Quiz Thursday on the formatting questions.
HOOPER PROJECT: In honor of yesterday's Avalon Golf Tourney, a Tuesday two-fer about the world's slowest moving game. Two points to the first and one to each additional Comper who can tell me: (a) What is the world's oldest golf course?, and (b) What four tournaments comprise golf's Grand Slam? Fore!
