Happy Feast of the Guardian Angels!
Busy day today and tomorrow, so let's get to it.
7th Grade/2nd Period: Today we did the S/NS quiz, then then tore through chapters 17-19 in the Gold Book. Tomorrow we'll do the quiz on clause vocabulary, which is very similar to exercise 16 in the Gold Book. Tomorrow, we'll also have the bonus extra credit quiz on the Preposition Song.
7th Grade/3rd Period: Today we did the quiz on clause vocabulary, then worked on chapter 20 on independent clauses. The quiz tomorrow will look a lot like exercise 17 and 18 in the Gold Book. We're also doing the Preposition Song extra credit quiz.
8th Grade/4th Period: No class today -- floater four.
8th Grade/6th Period: Today we did the super-fun pop quiz on quoting "It Couldn't Be Done." Tomorrow is the quiz on subjects, topics, and theses.
HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to Patrick Niedzielski, who rounded the bases on last night's three baseball Hoopers: Don Larson was indeed the only player to ever throw a post-season no-hitter; Reggie Jackson was "Mr. October," and Jack Morris threw that outrageous 10-inning shutout against the Braves to win game seven of the 1991 World Series.
Tonight, in honor of the Vice Presidential debate, some Veep Hoopers for you. Three points to the first and one to each additional Comper who can tell me: (a) Who was the first vice president not to one day become president?, (b) What two men appeared in the first vice-presidential debate in 1976?, and (c) Who was the first woman nominated to be vice president by a major party? Good luck!
