Monday, October 27
Much to update, gentlemen:
First of all, this is the final week of the first quarter for Composition class. All make-ups, redos, corrections, extra credit essays, and poetry recitations must be completed and handed in by the end of the day this Friday, October 31.
Second, I erred when setting the 7th grade test make-up date for tomorrow, as the 3rd period class didn't meet today. Therefore, the test can be made up at lunch on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Third, also for 7th graders, I've decided to make tomorrow interesting by giving a semi-pop quiz on the first punctuation template: IC; IC.
Now, on to tonight's specifics:
7th Grade/2nd Period: Today we reviewed Chapter 25 in the Gold Book, then covered chapter 26 on the new PT: IC, cc IC. Tonight for homework are exercises 31, 32, and 33 in the Gold Book. It's worth five points of extra credit if you do it, and minus-3 if you don't.
7th Grade/3rd Period: No class today: floater three. Tomorrow I will check last Friday's homework assignment, Ex. 31-33 in the Gold Book. It's worth five points of extra credit if you do it.
8th Grade/4th Period: Today we did the P.J. Essay on "It Couldn't Be Done." It is due to me tomorrow, even though we won't meet as a class.
8th Grade/6th Period: I missed yet another class -- sorry, boyos. In class, you should have done Quiz #14 on quoting "Danegeld," and then the P.J. Essay on "It Couldn't Be Done." That essay is due to me tomorrow.
HOOPER PROJECT: For the last week of the first quarter, a salute the great writers of the 20th century. Five -- count 'em -- five points to the first and two to each additional Comper who can tell me: (a) What masterful comedic stylist published for more than seventy years some of the best stories and novels of the century, before his death in 1975?, and (b) Who were the lead characters -- a rich twit and his genius butler -- of his most famous stories?
If you don't rack up the points on this one, I shall be far from fully gruntled!
