Friday, Sept. 19
Good afternoon, gentlemen. A fine week of good work, if I do say so myself. Next week, things will start to accelerate a bit in both Comp I and II, so enjoy your final weekend of relative relaxation. On to the update...
7th Grade/2nd Period - Today we tackled the adverbs quiz. Monday's quiz will be on prepositions. Tuesday, we'll have one last quiz on the final three parts of speech before Wednesday's "quest" (half quiz, half test) on all nine of them.
7th Grade/3rd Period - No class today; floater three. Monday we'll do the quiz on prepositions. Tuesday, we'll do the conjunction-interjection-article quiz. Then Wednesday we'll have the quest on all nine parts of speech.
8th Grade/4th Period - Good class today. We did the quiz on the relative clause punctuation templates, then started the big PT worksheet in preparation for Tuesday's (no class Monday; floater four) quest on the 15 PT's.
8th Grade/6th Period - Today we will do the quiz on the relative clause punctuation templates, then start the big PT worksheet in preparation for Monday's quest on the 15 PT's.
HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to Cody Mauri for rooting out last night's three-fer. Indeed, Kunta Kinte was the central character in Roots, the novel by Alex Haley, who also co-wrote Malcolm X's 1965 autobiography. Well done.
For this weekend, in honor of the final weekend of baseball games at Yankee Standium, a few Hoopers from the land of the most dominate professional sports team of last century. Three points to the first and one to each additional Comper who can tell me: (a) Which Babe Ruth led Yankee team is considered the best baseball team of all time?, (b) What Yankee hero is generally considered the best switch-hitter of all time?, (c) What Yankee captain was killed in a plane crash in 1979? Good luck... BOOOOOO!
