Sunday, August 24

Gentlemen,

A few thoughts, with eleven days to go.

Teacher meetings are well underway, and the first edition of the seventh grade text book is in the final editing stages. Eighth graders, I think you're looking at about eight essays per quarter, and I have most of the topics already picked out (gonna be lots of fun!).

HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to Max Kiley and Chris Whittington, who earned Q1 extra credit points by smiting some mid-August Hoopers. Yes!, George Patton competed in the 1912 Olympics, Christian hero Eric Liddell won the 400 meter run in the 1924 Olympics, and my man Carl Lewis won the gold medal in the long jump at the summer Olympics of 1984, 1988, 1992, and 1996! Thundercattish performance, gentlemen.

For the last summer Hooper, an easy three points to any Comper who can tell me the name and home state of Senator Barack Obama's recently announced vice-presidential running mate. Good luck, enjoy the waning days of summer, and I will see you all soon in Room 129!
