"Ulysses" Essays Extended! Details Below!

Gentlemen,

A reprieve! In deference to the baseball schedule, Grandparents Day, and the capture-the-flag dominance of Calvert House, the "Ulysses" essays have been bumped.

For 8th graders, both sections, the "Ulysses" essays will now be due MONDAY, MAY 5TH. For 7th graders, both sections, they will be due TUESDAY, MAY 6TH. Use the extra time wisely.

Happy May Day!

HOOPER PROJECT: A grudging congrats to Jimmy O'Rhythmless, who was the first to knock down last night's April 30th twofer. In Jimmy's words, "Um, yeah, uh, I'm actually pretty sure that, um, on April 30th, 1789, um, George Washington was, uh, inaugurated the first president of the United States. I'm also actually pretty confident that, um, Adolf Hitler -- who was definitely not a Thundercat -- nixed himself in his underground bunker on April 30th, 1945. Actually. Um. Yeah. Uh."

Thanks, guy.

Tonight, in honor of May 1, Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, four Hoopers from the world of organized labor. Five points to the first, and one to each additional, Comper who can tell me: (a) Who founded the American Federation of Labor in 1886?, (b) Who founded the Congress of Industrial Organizations in 1932?, (c) What president signed the law creating the United States Department of Labor?, and (d) What famously corrupt, mafia-connected, and un-Thundercatish labor leader mysteriously disappeared in 1975? Get to work, gentlemen!
