Ulysses Essays Due This Week!
Gentlemen,
All news is Ulysses news. 8th Graders, your essays are due Monday; 7th graders, yours are due Tuesday. We'll begin a new project this week, probably centered around that movie I mentioned; however, it might make sense to put in some exercises on quotations and conclusions in essays before we write another one.
Just so's we're clear, and to preclude any 8th-Grade-itis complaints, you'll have at least two more essays due before the end of the year.
HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to Max Kiley, for striking the four organized labor Hoopers last week. The founder of the Americal Federation of Labor was Samuel Gompers; the founder of the Congress of Industrial Organizations was John L. Lewis; the president who signed the Department of Labor into existence was William Howard Taft; and the shady labor leader who disappeared in 1975 was Jimmy Hoffa.
Today, in honor of the Boston Celtics' back-against-the-wall game seven against the Hawks, a championship-themed Hooper. Three points to the first, and two to each additional, Comper who can tell me what teams have won the most championships in each of the following professional sports leagues: (a) NFL, (b) Major League Baseball, (c) NBA, and (D) NHL. Game on!
