"ULYSSES" ESSAYS DUE FRIDAY -- TWO DAYS AWAY!

All classes met today and worked on the "Ulysses" essays. Same goes for tomorrow, except for 4th period because of Floater Four. Get writing!

HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to Benny Mauri, again, for adding another seven Hoopers to his 4th quarter body count. He not only sniped down the first two easy Hoopers -- Karl Marx wrote Das Kapital and Adam Smith wrote The Wealth of Nations -- but he snagged the two bonus points by pointing out the former book's advocacy of socialism and the latter's support for free-market capitalism. Well done.

Tonight, a this-day-in-history Hooper. Three points to the first, and one to each additional Comper who can tell me what two world-historical events occurred on April 30th, 156 years apart? (Hint: the first happened in New York, the second took place underground.) These Hoopers are what we call low-hanging fruit, gentlemen: pick 'em!
