Happy Tax Day, gentlemen... not that you can even envisage the crushing horror that is compliance with the internal revenue code. Alas. Very little new to report, other than the likely quiz in 2nd period tomorrow. No other comp classes met on this, Mr. Connolly's favorite day ever. On to the Hooper!
HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to Carlos Stumpo for beaning and tackling last night's Hooper. Si, Carlito, the first commissioner of baseball was Kennesaw Mountain Landis, and in the NFL, it was Elmer Layden. Of course, Jim Thorpe was the first "president" of the NFL, so those who gave that answer may also garner some consideration for de-Hooperization.
Tonight! A special tax-day Hooper trifecta. Five points to the first composition student, and one to each thereafter, who can tell me the following: (a) What amendment to the U.S. constitution made it okay for Congress to directly tax the American people's income?, (b) What year was that amendment ratified?, and (c) What is the most common income tax return form filed by American families and individuals (hint: it's a four-digit number)?
