Gentlemen,
As the big, red, you-can't-miss-it headline above says, the "Ulysses" essays are due Friday. Most of the remaining class time between now and then will be devoted to writing the essays. As I said before, I strongly recommend typing these essays up, as the old "redo" rules will apply -- one dagger and you have to rewrite the whole thing. With an electronically saved file, you only need to fix the mistakes rather than having to rewrite.
Also, tomorrow I will have details on the Middle School House Essay Contest. The essays will be due next Friday, May 9th. The topic is to be determined, but it will have something to do with Avalon. The winner will received composition extra credit and also 300 points for his House. Second place will receive 100 points.
Finally, great job in capture-the-flag today. Especially you Calverts, I salute you.
HOOPER PROJECT: A big fast Hooper congrats to J.P. McPherson, who slew the weekend five-parter: Shakespeare's wife's name was Anne Hathaway, his kids were Hamnet, Judith, and Susanna, his hometown was Stratford-upon-Avon, his acting company was called the Lord Chamberlain's Men (later called the King's Men), and his theater was The Globe. Well done to the several Compers who nailed it.
Tonight, a cha-chinging economics two parter. Five points to the first, and one to each additional Comper, who can tell me (a) Who wrote Das Kapital?, and (b) Who wrote The Wealth of Nations? Extra two points to anyone who can tell me, in their own words, what's the difference between the two books? C'mon, you little proles, move your hidden hands!
