Gala Weekend!

Gentlemen,

I hope everyone is warming up for tonight, so none of you sounds like this. Anyway, remember the extra credit assignment below is DUE MONDAY. Also, all middle school baseball players, Monday we have The Heights at 2:30, so bring your stuff. Now, on to the fun stuff.

HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to Benny Mauri, who prosecuted his inner Hooper for tax evasion by filing three correct answers: The 16th Amendment gave Congress the power to tax Americans' incomes, it was ratified by the states in 1913, and the most common tax form for Americans is the dreaded 1040. Good job.

This weekend, a hodge-podge trio. Five points to the first, and one to each additional, student who can tell me: (a) What is Queen Elizabeth II's last name?, (b) What strategy allows members of the United States to delay legislation simply by talking without sitting down?, and (c) Who was the first woman to sit on the United States Supreme Court? Good luck!
