Happy Opening Day!
Good work today, gentlemen. All classes met and made progress on the compound-complex sentences. More on them tomorrow. Tonight I'm going to write the big test and also the study guide, which I'll hand out tomorrow. Remember, FOUR DAYS until all extra credits, make-ups, and re-takes are due. I will be available after school Tuesday and Thursday for review for guys who need it, and Wednesday we'll do a review of the whole magilla.
Before we get into tonight's Hooper Project, I have a couple of Heck Week notes for you. First those of you who question at all the coolness of Thundercats, check this out, and I'll accept apologies tomorrow. Second, this is just righteous. And finally, O'Brien, this is a real YouTube video.
HOOPER PROJECT: Congrats to little Mike Brunvoll for beaning the Supreme Court Hooper, dropping the requisite knowledge that there are, in fact, nine Supreme Court Justices, that the Chief Justice is John Roberts, and that the principle of "stare decisis" means courts should, when possible, follow precedents set by courts in previous cases.
Tonight's initial Heck Week Hooper is all about a favorite topic of mine: Nicknames. Seven points to the first, and two points to each additional, student to tell me the real identities of the following: (a) Galloping Ghost, (b) Tricky Dick, (c) Old Blood and Guts, (d) the Louisville Lip, and (e) the Manassa Mauler. Good luck.
